With the right coverage package, you can reduce or even eliminate liability amounts, traveling carefree.
Insurance & Liability
1. Basic Insurance (Compulsory Third Party Liability)
Covers damage to third parties (vehicles, property and bodily injury).
Does not cover damage to the rental vehicle.
The Renter is fully responsible for any damage to the rental vehicle.
2. Insurance with Coverages (Mixed with Exemption)
Covers damage to third parties.
Covers damage to the rental vehicle with an exemption [€1200].
Does not cover damage to tires, rims, windows or the interior of the car.
3. Full Insurance (Zero Excess)
Completely covers the vehicle and damages to third parties.
There is no financial burden for the Renter in the event of damage or accident.
Covers tires, rims, windows and the interior of the car.
Cases where insurance coverage does not apply
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs – If it is determined that the driver has consumed alcohol or drugs, the insurance does not cover damage or accident.
Violation of the Road Traffic Law – Insurance does not apply if the driver is involved in an accident due to a serious violation, such as running a red light or driving in the wrong direction.
Unauthorized drivers – If the vehicle is driven by a person not included in the rental agreement, the insurance coverage becomes invalid.
Using the vehicle outside of insured areas – Many insurance companies do not cover damage if the vehicle is driven outside of permitted areas, such as on unpaved roads.
Negligent or careless use of the vehicle – Insurance does not apply if the vehicle is used in a manner that shows negligence, such as racing or extreme driving.
Failure to report an accident – If the driver does not report the accident to the rental company or the authorities within the prescribed time frame, the insurance may not cover the damage.
